Treatment of a Two-Piece
Child Velvet Suit
Description
Mostly machine sewn textiles with some hand stitched finishes. Commercially manufactured (cast or pressed) buttons, sewn through fabric. Jacket and pants are primarily black, with gold/taupe faux vest, and charcoal brown lining. Jacket buttons are brass coloured, and pant buttons are dark grey where not corroded. Overall good condition of textiles – jacket lining exhibits losses and wear through out. Some staining and discolouration from button corrosion. Buttons are in various states of corrosion from extreme to minimal. Button thread condition is poor, visible corrosion product embedded in a number of threads.
