Treatment of Archaeological Iron

Description  
Heavily corroded terrestrial iron artifacts. Treatment was carried out at the Canadian Conservation Institute, Ottawa, Ontario. 

Treatment Summary
Artifacts were treated with CO2 dry ice, air abrasion, mechanical, and solvent cleaning. Treatment was completed with the application of tannic acid.
